About The Position

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating end-to-end logistics and material flow to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time support of our operations and customer deliveries. This role leads day-to-day management of material movement across three buildings, oversees truck and charter scheduling for inbound and outbound shipments, and manages logistics with key external special-process vendors. The Logistics Specialist will be responsible for owning the current state shipping & receiving process for this facility while also driving continuous improvement and implementation of lean best practices in areas such as: material stores layout, bin sizing, supermarkets, handling solutions, and more. This role will own these functions to drive improved Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost – in that order.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years manufacturing experience) + minimum of 3 years logistics experience
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).

Responsibilities

  • Use a Safety-First mindset to drive improvements in material handling, storage, and movement
  • Lead efforts to ensure quality procedures are maintained by both our staff and our external vendors who support the business
  • Support production by ensuring minimal time waste in transportation while driving down expedite costs whenever able
  • Cross functional collaboration with internal & external stakeholders to ensure all functions of logistics are streamlined
  • Own current logistics process while driving continuous improvement, creating standard work, and sharing best practices with both hourly and salary staff
