About The Position

Marin Country Club is seeking an experienced, responsible, and customer-focused Seasonal Lead Lifeguard to oversee daily operations of the club’s aquatic facilities. This leadership role combines active lifeguarding with staff supervision, pool safety management, and exceptional member service. The ideal candidate sets the tone for safety, professionalism, and hospitality at the pool.

Requirements

  • Current Lifeguard Certification (Red Cross or equivalent)
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification
  • Previous lifeguard experience required; supervisory or pool management experience strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to remain calm and decisive in emergency situations
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and professional
  • Ability to swim proficiently and perform water rescues
  • Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods
  • Ability to lift rescue equipment and assist patrons as needed
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays during the pool season

Responsibilities

  • Maintain constant surveillance of pool areas to ensure the safety of members and guests
  • Enforce pool rules and safety regulations in a courteous and consistent manner
  • Respond to emergencies, provide first aid, CPR, and water rescues as needed
  • Conduct daily safety checks of pool, deck, and equipment
  • Supervise, mentor, and support seasonal lifeguard staff
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of lifeguards
  • Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage
  • Monitor staff performance and address issues professionally
  • Open and close the pool facility according to club procedures
  • Coordinate with maintenance and management regarding pool chemistry, cleanliness, and repairs
  • Maintain accurate records, including incident reports, attendance, and certifications
  • Communicate effectively with club management regarding operations and concerns
  • Provide a welcoming, friendly environment for members and guests
  • Address member questions, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally
  • Promote a positive pool culture aligned with Marin Country Club standards
  • May teach private or group swim lessons, as needed, following club guidelines
