  • Minimum 5 years of instructional design experience, with at least 2 years in higher education.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating AI/ML tools into learning design workflows (e.g., GPT-based content tools, adaptive platforms, learning analytics dashboards).
  • Deep working knowledge of Canvas LMS and familiarity with Microsoft Teams as a synchronous delivery platform.
  • Experience leading or coordinating a team of instructional designers or learning technologists.
  • Fluency in backward design (Wiggins & McTighe), competency-based frameworks, and accelerated/compressed course models.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with prompt engineering, fine-tuning LLMs for educational applications, or building AI-powered learning tools.
  • Familiarity with MSCHE accreditation standards.
  • Experience with learning analytics platforms (e.g., Canvas Data, Panopto Analytics) and evidence-based course improvement cycles.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic integration of AI tools (LLM-based tutoring, automated formative assessment, adaptive learning pathways, AI-assisted content generation) into graduate curriculum across all four schools.
  • Develop and maintain an AI integration framework and playbook that enables the three Senior IDs to apply AI-enhanced design patterns within their school clusters.
  • Coordinate the team’s work on the 7-week session conversion, ensuring consistency in course architecture, learning outcome alignment, and assessment design across programs.
  • Design and deliver faculty professional development on AI-augmented teaching, prompt engineering for educators, and ethical AI use in academic settings.
  • Establish quality assurance protocols for course design, including peer review workflows, accessibility audits, and alignment with HU’s accreditation standards.
  • Stay current on learning science research, emerging EdTech, and AI developments; translate findings into actionable design improvements.
