Position Overview The Lead Facilities Maintenance Technician oversees the maintenance, repair, and operational efficiency of building systems and equipment. This role provides technical leadership to maintenance staff while performing hands-on maintenance work across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical/trade school certification preferred
  • 5+ years of facilities maintenance experience with demonstrated progression
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Physical capability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various conditions
  • Flexibility for on-call rotation and emergency response
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in facilities management, mechanical engineering, or related field
  • Journeyman certification in electrical, HVAC, or plumbing trades
  • Building automation systems (BAS) experience
  • Project management experience

Responsibilities

  • Train and mentor junior technicians on proper maintenance procedures and safety protocols
  • Prioritize tasks based on urgency and resource availability
  • Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, electrical equipment, plumbing, and building infrastructure
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues across facility systems
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests and coordinate after-hours coverage
  • Execute routine inspections of fire safety systems, elevators, and life safety equipment
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work order documentation, and equipment logs
  • Ensure all work complies with local building codes, OSHA standards, and company policies
  • Maintain safe working conditions and enforce proper use of personal protective equipment
  • Participate in safety audits and programs
