About The Position

Responsible for daily monitoring of facilities staff. Provides input to Director regarding annual performance reviews of facilities staff. Oversees building operations, including repairs and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, plumbing and waste management systems. Interfaces with contractors for delivery of services. Ensures schedules for preventative maintenance are maintained. Completes daily rounds of buildings and grounds to ensure safe and secure operations of all equipment and grounds are free of safety issues. Inspects all buildings for cleanliness and free of cobwebs and debris. Completes assigned CMMS work orders and respond to staff concerns and building critical systems. Maintains records/logs of building systems – CMMS. Maintains mechanical systems at all facilities/buildings. Maintains building standards as applicable by law and regulation. Maintains records/logs of building systems and preventive maintenance. Maintains a comprehensive preventive maintenance inspections (PMI) list for all buildings, grounds, equipment, and systems. Moves furniture and equipment as needed including office moves, special events at Ispiri or other areas on and off campus. Ensures the Royal Palm and Pet Memorial Courtyards are maintained in a neat and well-maintained manner. Inserts bricks into the courtyard as directed. Responds to maintenance/engineering needs. Assists with fire/sprinkler drills. Maintains bio-hazardous waste containers on a regular basis. Maintains warehouse supplies and storage items. Maintains building and grounds. Paints offices and buildings. On call when needed. Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • General building repairs, lawn maintenance, minor electrical duties, painting and other repair person type duties
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License
  • Crowd Control
  • Knowledge of basic typing skills, data entry and word processing software
  • Ability to work with basic mathematical situations
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or vendors
  • Ability to read and write the English language
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree preferred
  • Knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, refrigerants, carpentry, and electrical preferred
  • Knowledge of NFPA and AHCA Life Safety preferred
  • Database software and general knowledge of e-mail is preferred
