About The Position

The Test Engineer is the technical expert for all Production Engine Test Operations (PETO) functions from the moment the engine arrives until we ship it to the customer. In this role, you will be responsible for testing Marine and Industrial engines to ensure they perform to the standards established by GE Aerospace. With 3 product lines and dozens of engine configurations, Test Engineers must ensure the highest levels of safety and quality during a variety of setup, test, and post-test processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years Engineering/Technology & Testing experience + minimum of 3 years Engineering/Technology & Testing experience

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for production and select development testing of Marine and Industrial engines across multiple product lines, which include LM2500, LM6000, and LMS100. This includes unique tests requested by engineering and/or customers, inspections, and data acquisition for use in the design and validation of products and services.
  • Think lean! Identify and remove waste from business processes.
  • Must be able to work across a broad cross-functional team, which can include internal PETO resources and external functions, such as engineering, maintenance, and more.
  • Responsible for functionality of test facilities and infrastructure.
  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of test operations, processes, and data to improve operations and achieve business outcomes across safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues. Leads projects to continue improving how we test engines. Explains information, developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field.
  • May require professional development in a related field, such as Fuel and Oil analysis, mechanical engineering, or manufacturing expertise, based on business needs and/or applicant's skills/experience.
  • This is a first shift test engineer role.
