Position Summary: Lead Mechanical Engineers at Kimberly-Clark initiate design, optimize and problem solve manufacturing processes in a manner that meets safety, quality, and operational performance expectations. The Mechanical Engineer for this role will provide leadership and support for the CTEC facial tissue converting processes at the Beech Island Mill. The position reports to the CTEC Rolled & Interfolder Asset Leader and receives direction in the form of general objectives. In this role you will: Provide Mechanical Engineering support for the Beech Island CTEC Converting Assets with focus on the Rolled and Interfolder assets. Support daily manufacturing asset performance to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery/OEE, & Cost objectives. Your personal performance is linked directly to the asset’s performance objectives. Carry out all job responsibilities in a safe manner. Deliver improvements that reduce safety risk for our processes for the well-being of operators, maintenance, and other personnel. Design, develop, and optimize production equipment and processes that meet safety and manufacturing codes, policies, and standards. Identify and problem solve technical issues and provide necessary solutions to eliminate root cause, including leading structured group Problem Solving sessions. Lead or support capital or major maintenance projects from conception through commercialization, including leading Down planning for installation, checkout, & startup. Develop knowledge and skills in leadership of the application of engineering principles, scientific analysis, and project management. Assist in the development of others within the area of expertise. Requirements

  • Requires a minimum of a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • 3 years or more of experience in an engineering role, which may include co-op or internship experience.
  • Incumbent should have the ability and flexibility to work in a manufacturing environment with a 24/7 operation.
  • Incumbent should be flexible to travel up to 15%.
  • A demonstrated ability to perform in cross-functional teams to achieve results.
  • A very strong self-motivation to Move Fast and achieve Results with minimal direction and follow-up.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills – including daily, on-time, attendance and participation in early morning Tier meetings.
  • High level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness, including 100% compliance with the KC Code of Conduct standard.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively with Operators, peer Engineers, and Leadership.
  • Strong technical skills including experience using SolidWorks and 3D Printing.
