About The Position

EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Lead Engineer to serve as the on-site manager to lead and manage the day-to-day facilities operations supporting a customer with a complex of buildings totally approximately 350,000 square feet in Washington, DC. The Lead Engineer will Act on behalf of EMCOR Government Services (EGS) in reference to the contract in every way Manage all aspects of the contract schedule and help perform all preventative maintenance repairs and all other work Serve as EGS's Quality Control inspector and monitor all work performed by EGS personnel and/or sub contractors Spend time as needed on administrative work such as purchasing material, preparing project estimates, etc. #EGS #LI-NS1 This position is contingent upon contract award.

Requirements

  • Shall possess a Universal CFC License
  • Shall hold at a minimum a DC 3rd class stem engineer license
  • Shall have a through knowledge of air conditioning systems including boilers, compressors, chillers, air handling units, electrical systems and plumbing systems.
  • Shall have a minimum of five (5) years' experience as a working engineer

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to understand the French Language is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all engineering Operations and mechanical/electrical maintenance of the facility under the general direction of the Building Manager.
  • Responsible for the supervision, performance and coordination of all mechanical, electrical and craft operation and maintenance services including other contractors.
  • Supervise the Maintenance Engineer and Maintenance Mechanic.
  • Develop work assignments for each employee and handle reactive maintenance and capital alteration requests and maintain a follow-up system.
  • Administer the preventive maintenance program in order to maintain equipment and systems in optimum operating condition and effectively reduce maintenance costs and downtime.
  • Responsible for the adherence in the work performed to quality specification and standard industry practices.
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient operations of the facility equipment and systems under the scope of the work of the contract.
  • Implement and monitor an effective energy management and/or conservation program
  • Communicate with the CO on all matters requiring coordination of activities such as major equipment repairs or system shutdowns, which could affect building occupants or operations
  • Possess the requisite licenses and permits required by local laws and ordinance to operate, repair and maintain the facility equipment and systems
