Responsible for delivering high-quality, low-power graphics IP that meets our performance, timing, and area goals. Exploring design trade-offs, while exercising rigorous design principles. Understanding and contributing to pioneering micro-architectural specifications in order to design best-in-class GPUs. Collaborating closely with multi-functional teams in architecture, validation, modeling, and physical design. Author design and microarchitectural specifications. Write Verilog for one or more components of the GPU. Responsible for performance analysis and resolution related to your design. Responsible for functional debug analysis and resolution related to your design. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $176,134 - $258,100/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Requirements

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Sciences, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation
  • 5 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: Utilizing System Verilog or Verilog to write RTL for GPUs, Machine Learning Accelerators, or other high-performance IPs
  • Utilizing scripting languages including Python, Perl, or TCL to automate RTL build flows, verification flows, synthesis and timing reports
  • RTL design of complex FSMs and data-paths
  • Micro-architecting a block in GPU, CPU, or other high-performance IP
  • Low-power RTL design, including clock gating, data gating, and other related techniques
  • Using computer architecture and SOC to shorten development time and facilitate debug and performance
  • Using synthesis tools, timing analysis, floor planning, and the PNR flow to rapidly iterate towards an optimal design
  • Performing hardware performance analysis, including waveform analysis and throughput calculations
