About The Position

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Lead Electro-Mechanical Technician to support production operations in King of Prussia, PA. In this role, you’ll contribute directly to the fabrication, assembly, modification, and testing of flight and ground support hardware used in advanced space systems. This position blends hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities—supporting quality, training, process improvement, and communication across manufacturing, engineering, and program teams.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated mechanical dexterity and comfort working with small, detailed components
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing, production, or lab environment
  • Ability to read and work from technical documentation, including schematics, engineering drawings, wiring lists, and work instructions
  • Experience assembling detailed mechanical and/or electrical components into completed products by following written procedures
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications, including: o J-STD-001 Solder Certification o SSC JSTD001MAP Solder Operator Certification o SSC NASA Polymeric Operator Certification o SSC NASA Cable/Harness Operator Certification
  • Willingness and ability to work varying shifts, weekends, overtime, or extended shifts as program needs require
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly, troubleshooting, bonding, polymerics, and cable fabrication
  • Active or previous J-STD-001 certification
  • Experience using precision hand tools, drilling, fixtures, and bonding techniques
  • Familiarity with fabrication of: o Avionics boxes o Ground support equipment and racks o Circuit card assemblies (CCAs)
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with VE-CAMS and SAP systems
  • Approximately 4+ years of related industry experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical fabrication and assembly of flight and ground support hardware
  • Execute hands-on assembly tasks ranging from repetitive production work to complex, non-repetitive builds
  • Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies
  • Support bonding, soldering, harness fabrication, module assembly, and black-box-level assembly
  • Communicate technical issues and observations to Manufacturing and Quality Engineers, supporting corrective actions as needed
  • Evaluate new processes and products, and identify potential process or quality issues
  • Demonstrate the ability to master and train others on required tasks in alignment with Lockheed Martin training standards
  • Provide clear status updates and, when required, represent the team in meetings on behalf of the supervisor
  • Support schedule demands through shift work, overtime, or extended hours when necessary
