The Lead Director of Federal Government Affairs will play a key role in developing CVS Health’s Congressional relationships and building the company’s reputation and enhancing long-term objectives through complex advocacy and campaign strategies related to health care. You will have a deep understanding of the legislative and regulatory processes and relationships with key policy makers. A successful candidate will have a track record of working collaboratively in a team environment, the ability to nimbly respond in a fast-paced environment while juggling multiple issues and priorities. You will partner closely with the internal policy teams to align priorities and efforts and maximize resources, in addition to coordinating with cross-company business teams to educate policy makers about key company initiatives. The successful candidate will have the ability to develop and lead legislative advocacy strategies to support the company’s advocacy/reputation agenda. You are responsible for identifying, and developing relationships with key Members of Congress. The candidate will need to work collaboratively and be a self-starter who can think strategically to problem-solve. You will communicate effectively and comfortably with senior executives and high-level government officials, while demonstrating a high degree of professionalism.

Requirements

• Government affairs professional with deep expertise in state government, and 10+ years of experience in government, lobbying, health care public policy, government relations, and/or government affairs.
• Ability to attend off site events.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• BA/BS required

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the Federal Government (Legislative Branch).
• Experience devising multifaceted issue campaigns and advancing advocacy strategies to a positive conclusion on behalf of an organization or member of Congress.
• Knowledge of health care policy.
