GDIT is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to join our program supporting the biomedical research community for our customer with the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) at the National Institutes of Health. As a DevOps Engineer Lead, you will develop, maintain, and support DevOps practices. In this role, a typical day will include: • Manage and lead the DevOps activities and team of engineers • Deploy and configure cloud services according to best practice • Use system automation technologies, such as Jenkins, Copado, TFS/Azure DevOps, Chef, Puppet, Ansible or others to create standardized IT environments • Design, plan, and integrate cloud computing and virtualization systems using infrastructure as code and modern cloud-native deployment techniques, such as DevOps and/or DevSecOps. • Design and support Continuous Delivery • Work with Solution Architects to conduct proof of concepts (POCs) and assist in Production implementations • Assess existing application stacks and suggest cloud native services for applicability • Assess existing environments for opportunities to simply, automate or bring efficiency to technical processes • Develop automation scripts for efficient deployment and operations of cloud environments • Advanced troubleshooting, including analyzing log & trace files, opening service requests, collecting documentation, working with Vendors, and driving problem resolutions
