About The Position

About the Role We're looking for an experienced, motivated dental assistant to step into a lead capacity within our clinical team. In this role, you'll be the go-to person for chair side support, team coordination, and ensuring our patient experience is second to none, all within the scope of practice defined for non-EFDA dental assistants in Missouri. Please note: This is a non-EFDA (Expanded Functions Dental Assistant) role. All responsibilities are scoped to duties permitted for dental assistants without an EFDA license in the state of Missouri. Clinical Duties -Chair side assisting for all dental procedures (4-handed dentistry) -Instrument preparation, sterilization, and tray setup -Dental radiographs (X-rays) -Intraoral photography and documentation -Oral evacuation (suction) during procedures -Impression taking as directed by the dentist -Topical anesthetic application -Isolation techniques -Retraction and cheek/lip management during procedures -Temporary crown placement as directed by supervising dentist -Patient education on post-op and home care instructions Lead Responsibilities -Oversee operatory readiness, supply levels, and daily flow -Coordinate scheduling support between clinical and front desk -Maintain OSHA and infection control compliance standards -Manage sterilization area protocols and documentation -Act as point of contact for clinical questions during procedures -Track and reorder clinical supplies and materials -Support a positive, patient-centered team culture

Requirements

  • 2+ years of dental assisting experience
  • CPR/BLS certification (current)
  • Proficiency with digital X-ray systems
  • Experience with Open Dental practice management software
  • Strong communication and team leadership skills
  • Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Positive chair side manner with patients
  • Knowledge of Missouri dental assistant scope of practice non EFDA

Responsibilities
