The Lead Custodian's primary goal is to ensure students have a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient environment for learning, playing, and development. This role involves performing all custodial tasks, planning and implementing an effective cleaning program for the school, and establishing a work schedule for the custodial department. The Lead Custodian assists the principal in evaluating the custodial program and staff, provides solutions for special cleaning problems, and inspects school areas to recommend corrective actions. The position requires being on call for emergencies, collaborating with maintenance, grounds, and warehouse supervisors, assisting the Principal with budget preparation for custodial and capital equipment, managing custodial supply inventory, and performing minor maintenance. Additionally, the Lead Custodian is expected to stay updated on new equipment, operation techniques, and procedures related to custodial management and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
