About The Position

Eilan Hotel and Spa in San Antonio is hirng lead cooks to support its restaurant operations. The Lead Cook supports the Executive Chef r in coordinating daily kitchen operations and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality food. This hands-on role includes guiding and training associates, assisting with purchasing and cost control, and upholding food safety and sanitation practices. Lead Cook plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen, while encouraging a positive and respectful work environment. As a Lead Cook, you would be responsible for: Complete daily kitchen operations and support BOH team leadership Supervise, train, and delegate tasks to line staff (team of 4–5) Ensure accurate food preparation, portioning, and presentation standards Assist in ordering, receiving, inventory management, and cost control Uphold rigorous food safety and cleanliness requirements (ServSafe or equivalent) Collaborate with the Executive Chef on seasonal menu updates and service changes Monitor cleanliness, organization, and equipment maintenance Uphold a team culture of dignity, respect, and high performance Perform additional duties as assigned by kitchen leadership Qualifications To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience: Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a Hotel/Restaurant or high-end kitchen Strong background in restaurant operations and culinary fundamentals Excellent palate and knowledge of seasonal ingredients Food Safety Certification required Job involves fast-paced tasks: bending, lifting up to 60 lb., reaching overhead, climbing, sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling in limited space. Moderate noise, outdoor weather conditions, high places, extreme heat and/or cold.
