About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Cook to join our dining services team at our Jamestowne facility. The Lead Cook is responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring food quality and consistency, and supporting the kitchen team during daily service. This role involves preparing food, supervising staff, maintaining food safety standards, and assisting with inventory and ordering. This is an important hospitality role focused on creating a warm, welcoming environment where residents feel valued and cared for.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED preferred
4 or more years experience in foodservice production
Presents self in a highly professional manner
Ability to maintain a positive attitude
Ability to communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect
Maintains a professional relationship with all co-workers, vendors, supervisors, customers, an client representatives
Ability to use a computer
Applies advanced cooking skills
Adapts procedures, processes, tools, equipment and techniques to meet the requirements of the position.
Substantial working knowledge of food preparation
Must be able to work nights, weekends and some holidays

Nice To Haves

Servsafe Certification preferred.
3-5 years in high volume restaurant/retail food services setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards
Lead and supervise kitchen staff during shifts
Ensure timely and efficient food service
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen
Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation
Train and mentor line cooks and kitchen staff
Enforce food safety and sanitation regulations (e.g., proper food handling, storage, and hygiene)
Assist with inventory management, ordering, and stock rotation (FIFO)
Coordinate with management on menu planning and specials
Step in for the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager when needed
