About The Position

The Lead Bartender plays a key role to ensure smooth, high-level execution of bar operations. The Lead Bartender collaborates closely with the Food and Beverage Manager to uphold the highest standards of beverage service, innovation, and compliance, while mentoring and guiding the bar team.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive bartending experience, including at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role within a high-volume, craft cocktail, or luxury hotel setting.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a team while maintaining a collaborative, guest-focused culture.
  • Experience working alongside management to drive performance, maintain service standards, and support overall food & beverage operations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality or related degree preferred.
  • Expertise in classic and contemporary cocktail techniques; strong knowledge of spirits, beer, and wine.
  • Proficient in POS systems, inventory controls, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of state and federal liquor laws and responsible beverage service practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a professional, guest-focused demeanor.
  • Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and health code compliance.
  • Valid Washington State Food Handler’s Permit and MAST 12 Permit.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Food and Beverage Manager to lead and oversee daily bar operations, ensuring service, quality, and guest satisfaction meet brand standards.
  • In collaboration with the Food and Beverage Manager, supervise, train, and support the bar team to deliver consistent, high-level service.
  • Collaborate on the development and execution of creative, seasonally inspired cocktail menus and beverage experiences.
  • Oversee bar mise en place, cleanliness, and organization, in partnership with the Food and Beverage Manager, to ensure operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
  • Work closely with the Food and Beverage Manager to manage inventory, ordering, and cost control procedures; conduct regular audits and maintain accurate records.
  • Support guest experience initiatives by responding to feedback and concerns in coordination with the Food and Beverage Manager.
  • Ensure cash handling and POS reporting is accurate and timely, in support of F&B leadership.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador, modeling professionalism and commitment to the hotel’s service culture.
  • Foster interdepartmental collaboration to ensure cohesive service across all outlets.
  • Participate in and support training sessions, tastings, and industry events, staying informed of trends and innovations to enhance the beverage program.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Food and Beverage Manager to contribute to the overall success of the department.
