About The Position

Under the direction of the Admissions Director, the Lead Admissions Clinician provides supervision to Admissions department personnel. Provides telephonic and in-person risk assessment and crisis intervention, initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process, determines appropriate level of care, facilitates the admission process and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff. Promotes patient care consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Cedar Ridge. Performs duties in accordance with the facility’s mission, values, policies, and behavioral standards. Provides department coverage during day, evening, and weekend hours as scheduled with flexibility to ensure department services as needed. Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital (a UHS facility) Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital provides inpatient and residential treatment services for youth ages 5-17, as well as inpatient, patial hospitalization and intensive outpatient services for adults ages 18+. Requirements

  • Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population required (preferably in an inpatient setting)
  • Masters Degree in Counseling, Psychology or Social Work field required
  • Current certification or licensure by the State of Oklahoma (LCSW, LPC, LMFT), or applying for supervision/under supervision preferred
  • One / Two years management experience preferred
  • Working Knowledge: Knowledge of hospital admissions functions, leadership skills, crisis intervention and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses symptomology, basic chemical dependency, age specific growth and development and crisis and behavior management
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Successfully complete a drug test
  • Successfully pass a national background check
  • Physical agility to manage patients
  • Ability to push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds.

  • Strong Leadership skills
  • Exposure to psychiatric patients who may exhibit violent/aggressive behavior
