About The Position
Overview Responsible for weighing, sorting, and counting soiled linens, operating flatwork ironers, dryers, and folders and other laundry equipment on an assigned shift, five (5) days a week. Under the direct supervision of the Floor Leaders.Employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.
Requirements
- The ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- General knowledge of commercial laundry equipment normally acquired through four weeks of on the job training.
Responsibilities
- Contributes to a positive work environment and the overall team effort of the unit.
- Weighs, sorts, and counts soiled linens from affiliates and records on proper report.
- Weighs and loads soiled linens into chutes for washers.
- Wrap linen and load carts according to pick ticket for delivery to affiliates.
- Folds linens that are processed through the flatwork ironer.
- Loads and unloads tumblers.
- Folds linen in the dry fold area.
- Sends linens through flatwork ironers and small piece folders.
- Loads and unloads carts.
- Transports linen carts to areas within the hospital.
- Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.
