Lathe/Mill (Setup) Operator
About The Position
Full Time positions for Lathe/Mill Setup Operators Functions: Oversee and coordinate machining operations and activities. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely fashion. Load and unload equipment and materials. Be able to setup/operate CNC FANUC control. Precise setting of all tool offsets. Must have mathematical skills for calculating set-up requirements, including basic math, geometry and trigonometry. Set up and operate machines with little supervision. Able to read and understand Engineering drawings/blueprints. Able to plan machining process, study work orders, drawings, materials, specifications, and machine capabilities. Interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) and read drawings. Must be familiar with G-Code machine language. Conduct routine preventive maintenance on machines.
Requirements
- Good communication skills both written and verbal.
- Previous experience in plant operations or other related fields.
- Familiarity with plant tools and equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to oversee physical workload.
- 3, 4 & 5 axis CNC Horizontal setup.
- Knowledge of FANUC controls.
- Functional and Technical skills.
- Read and edit programs.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in CNC mill machining
- Must have mathematical skills for calculating set-up requirements, including basic math, geometry and trigonometry.
