About The Position

Manages, investigates and resolves claims under limited supervision. Assigned a majority of large loss Property Loss claims. Provides policyholders with exceptional customer service on high profile/high exposure claims. Claims are frequently non-livable dwelling assignments. Training is a critical component to your success and that success starts with reliable attendance. Attendance and active engagement during training is mandatory.

Requirements

• Demonstrated understanding of building construction principles.
• Requires an advanced knowledge of claims handling procedures, and a full working knowledge of claims operations and procedures.
• Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service experience.
• Effective negotiation skills.
• Ability to effectively and independently manage workload while exhibiting good judgment.
• Strong written and communication skills; interpersonal skills; computer skills with the ability to work with multi-faceted systems; and analytical skills.
• The capabilities, skills and knowledge required is normally acquired through Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and at least 6 years of directly related experience.
• Completion of advanced property training.
• Ability to obtain proper licensing as required.

Responsibilities

• Investigates, determines coverage of loss and adjusts all elements of Property Loss claims of high severity.
• Handles a majority of large loss claims assigned under little supervision.
• Works with a Field Appraiser or Liberty network contractor in the appraisal process of severe complexity claims.
• Explains coverage of loss, assists policyholders with itemization of damages, emergency repairs and additional living arrangements.
• Works with and may coordinate a number of vendor services such as contractors, emergency repair, cleaning services and various replacement services.
• Identifies suspicious losses.
• Recommends referral to SIU where appropriate and may assist the SIU in their investigation and settling of the claim.
• May be called upon for catastrophe duty.
