About The Position

The position will be responsible for sourcing and underwriting complex, large commercial Builder’s Risk (ISO Class 1-6) in the United States. The underwriter is responsible for the technical risk assessment, pricing, and line size deployment for new and renewal risks falling within the underwriting guidelines. They will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop and maintain a profitable portfolio. Responsibilities

  • Building and maintaining a profitable portfolio. Proactively taking steps to optimize the portfolio and manage aggregations.
  • Developing solutions unique to each client while protecting our bottom line.
  • Day-to-day communication, marketing, and negotiating with approved clients and broker contacts
  • Examines, identifies, and evaluates exposures by analyzing documentation from various sources, such as the insurance application, project and site plans, project schedules, geotechnical reports, credit reports, crime scores, Nat Cat models etc.
  • Coordinating Loss Prevention/ Risk Engineering services both internally and with our vendor partners.
  • Underwrite and evaluate Natural Catastrophe Accumulation, ensuring an understanding of catastrophe modelling and interpretation of scenarios. Manage this on a per risk and portfolio basis.
  • Key role in working with pricing system and technical teams to maximum profitability.
  • Compliance with all internal and external guidelines and legal requirements.
