About The Position

The CLS Project Manager is responsible for maximizing profitability and operational excellence for client projects through strategic leadership, proactive client communication, and oversight of project operations. This role involves fostering teamwork and professionalism, training and developing employees, strategic decision-making, assessing projects for continuous improvement and efficiency, and serving as a resource for clients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Driver’s license.
  • Relevant applicator licenses and certificates, or the ability to obtain them by a designated date upon hire, if required by state law.
  • Ability to complete required safety courses upon hire.
  • Ability to complete Davey Carer Development Program (CDP) books .
  • Ability to operate power equipment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer programs necessary to complete job duties.
  • Professional landscape and grounds management experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Turf, weed, tree, and shrub identification knowledge.
  • Fluency in Spanish is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and develop all employees working on assigned projects, fostering teamwork and professionalism.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact (POC) for the client regarding daily project operations, maintaining proactive communication.
  • Manage day-to-day project operations.
  • Maximize profitability through goal attainment and efficient management of daily operations, leveraging tools and reports to make strategic decisions.
  • Monitor actual versus budgeted hours on a weekly basis and maintain required profitability.
  • Develop strategies to correct shortfalls as needed and implement changes with crews to stay on budget, ensuring the identification and implementation of more efficient methods to perform project duties.
  • Build a strong relationship with clients.
  • Conduct walk-throughs and/or drive-throughs with client representatives.
  • Attend client meetings and provide regular updates for clear communication.
  • Proactively identify and submit for consideration any problem-solving and site enhancement opportunities.
  • Manage and accurately report required paperwork.
  • Foster employee growth and development through coaching, training, and goal setting, while also ensuring clear task expectations and providing comprehensive safety training.
  • Conduct staff and safety meetings.
  • Control all aspects of the job site.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve enhancement sales goals mutually determined by Division Manager and Project Manager.
  • Ensure contract renewal by accurately understanding client expectations and exceeding with superior service.
  • Enforce and follow all safety requirements.
  • Monitor routine equipment maintenance schedule to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure full compliance with the project's pesticide program, meeting all rules, regulations, and licensing requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and work rules.
