About The Position

For more than 40 years, Sunrise Landscape, a commercial landscape maintenance, design and installation company, has been serving West Central Florida with a commitment to landscape and service excellence. We are growing and have a great opportunity for a Landscape Superintendent to join our Team in our Fort Myers, FL. This team member will report to the General Manager of the local branch. We are looking for team members who thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and looking to grow with us. The Landscape Superintendent is a critical leader in Operations. They handle the day-to-day business of running all field aspects of construction projects. They are an experienced construction superintendent whose duties include managing field production, crews, safety, subcontractors, scheduling, material want lists, quality, client relationships, and partnering with Project Managers and Purchasing Agents. The Irrigation Superintendent is primarily a field position that works directly with both internal and external clients, and reports to the General Manager. This role is located in our Fort Myers, FL office

Requirements

  • Able to read and understand blueprints, specs, and contracts
  • Comfortable in both the office and field environment of construction projects
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong organization and documentation skills
  • Critical thinker with strong analytical skills
  • Enjoy the daily processes of running a construction project
  • Previous experience as a Landscape or Irrigation Construction Superintendent or similar

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual Spanish and English a plus, but is not required

Responsibilities

  • Manage crew labor to budgets
  • Create and manage the project schedules
  • Hire and terminate crew employees
  • Develop and train crew employees daily, build a strong team
  • Enforce project safety
  • Work with the team to develop and submit RFI’s
  • Provide information to the Project Managers to create change orders
  • Coordinate with Project Manager to handle all project needs and remove roadblocks for the crews
  • Act as the primary field contact for clients on their projects
  • Manage subcontractors
  • Perform field walks/inspections
  • Attend client project meetings
  • Develop and maintain long-term working relationships with vendors and clients
  • Manage weekly labor reports
  • Understand the projects requirements and achieve the schedule and quality goals
  • Partner, Communicate, and Plan daily with the Project Managers
  • Have a good attitude and work well with others
  • Perform other related duties as required
