About The Position

The Landscape Health and Water Manager is primarily responsible for managing the overall plant wellness on assigned sites and plays a crucial role in ensuring the aesthetic appeal, health, and sustainability of our landscape through the proper management of the irrigation system. This includes irrigation monitoring to ensure all plants receive the ideal amounts of water for plant type and seasonality. During site audits, Landscape Health and Water Manager will look for struggling plants and adjust run times and make coverage change recommendations to improve plant health. In addition, this role will support branch operations by communicating with Account Managers and Repair Technicians on issues found and property enhancement ideas. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in horticulture, a passion for plant care, and the ability to conduct comprehensive site audits. Ultimately, this role is responsible for ensuring all plants are healthy and thriving. This includes all established material, annual flowers, and newly installed landscapes. Understanding plant establishment and the necessary care for new installed plants is needed. This individual will report to the Branch Manager.

Requirements

  • Degree in horticulture, plant science, or a related field; extensive industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience and/or coursework in horticulture or landscape management
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to solve a variety of problems independently
  • Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools.
  • Familiarity with state and federal regulations relevant to plant healthcare and safety practices.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated and committed
  • Valid Driver’s License with approved driving record
  • Ability to handle, control, and feel various objects, tools, and controls with hands.
  • Maintain a standing position for extended periods; walk large areas to perform inspections and treatments.
  • Perform repetitive movements with accuracy and precision.
  • Bend, twist, or reach as necessary to complete tasks.
  • Lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 lbs as required.
  • Work primarily outdoors in varying environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform irrigation and landscape audits regularly to ensure the landscape plants are healthy and aesthetically appealing
  • Monitor and manage pest and disease issues using IPM (Integrated Pest Management) strategies to ensure the overall health and vitality of plants. Including soil improvement recommendations.
  • Identify and diagnose diseases affecting turf and ornamental plants
  • Propose and implement effective solutions to address plant health issues in a timely manner
  • Communicate findings and generate proposals from site audits with improvement or repair recommendations for Account Managers to send to customers.
  • Take ownership of all aspects of water management in the landscape
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the manager to support team objectives
