About The Position

Seeking a driven and dynamic Landscape Construction Manager to join our growing team. This role is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on leader to take ownership of a high-visibility, $1.2 million stream bank mitigation and common area project in Triad, NC. As a key player in our organization, you will serve as the "right hand" to leadership, eventually helping to expand our construction footprint into the Charlotte and Raleigh markets. We are looking for a true partner who can execute complex blueprints, manage diverse crews, and ensure every detail—from soil amendments to irrigation pressure—is perfect. If you are a leader who loves the smell of fresh mulch in the morning and isn't afraid to swap a clipboard for a shovel when the deadline calls, we want to talk to you!

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in Landscape Construction or a related field; we are looking for a "plug and play" professional.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in reading blueprints/scaled drawings and a deep understanding of irrigation systems and plant identification.
  • Work Ethic: Must possess a "boots on the ground" mentality; a willingness to perform manual labor when necessary is a non-negotiable deal-breaker.
  • Licensing: Possession of a Contractor’s License or Irrigation License is highly desired, though not required; energy and a willingness to pursue these certifications are essential.
  • Travel Flexibility: Ability to travel within a 1.5-hour radius as the role expands into new markets.
  • Project Management Skills: Proven ability to manage timelines, coordinate subcontractors, and oversee site logistics effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Project Execution: Oversee the daily operations of large-scale landscape construction projects, starting with a 4.5-acre mixed-use development site involving walking trails, water features, and retail spaces.
  • Manage Crews and Subcontractors: Direct and motivate a fluctuating workforce ranging from five to 50 people, including subcontractors for hydro-seeding and mulch blowing, ensuring all teams are aligned with project goals.
  • Technical Implementation: Expertly read and interpret blueprints and scaled drawings to execute complex layouts, including.
  • Irrigation and Planting: Manage the installation of comprehensive irrigation systems (calculating pressure drops and linear footage) and oversee bed preparation, tilling, soil amendments, and the installation of trees and shrubs.
  • Proactive Planning: Manage project schedules and material ordering.
  • Hands-On Leadership: Maintain a "boots on the ground" presence; actively participate in manual labor—such as digging or planting—alongside the crew during critical "crunch times" to ensure project completion.
