Mater Mothers’ Springfield is seeking applications for Lactation Consultant to join us in a permanent, part time (0.5 FTE) role. Based at our Springfield campus, these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — opening early 2026. This state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU, maternity, emergency and medical, surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually. The Lactation Consultant is a Clinical Midwife who has undertaken specific training to become a credentialed lactation nurse consultant through IBCLE. The role involves educating new mothers and their families, regarding best practices in supporting the establishment of breastfeeding. Lactation Consultants also collaborate with other health professionals when the breastfeeding mother is facing challenges establishing breastfeeding, continuing to breastfeed or ceasing their breastfeeding journey, if need be.
