POSITION PURPOSE: The Laborer shall perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites to support design and demo needs for animal enclosures. Work in accordance with US Navy Policies and Protocols for the Navy Marine Mammal Program.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED
3 years’ experience in general construction
Ability to lift 75lbs wet from water to dock.
Ability to work independently as well as a team player
Ability to work safely and efficiently
Ability to follow supervisory verbal and written instructions and designated health and safety requirements.
Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions.
Ability to swim (due to working on and around docks/water)
Understands the importance of safety and working according to safety standards
Must be able to pass background screen to obtain access to work location

Responsibilities

Assist with the building and installation of on-water facilities in support of the Navy-Marine Mammal Program
Lift and carry materials
Utilize power tools and hand tools
Inspect, maintain and operate assigned manual and power tools
Collection of construction debris/trash
Load/unload various materials
To be able to work independently as well as a team player.
