About The Position

A local industrial lubricant company is looking to add a qualified Laboratory Technician to their team! An ideal fit for this role would be a current student or recent graduate with a chemistry background and a significant amount of laboratory experience. The Laboratory Technician conducts chemical and physical laboratory tests of samples from the plant for quality control using gauges and instruments. Duties will include performing routine analyses to determine product quality status, including control samples and calibration checks, analyzing and documenting results accurately, all while following laboratory SOPs and methods to ensure accurate and precise testing. The Laboratory Technician will also be responsible for preliminary investigation, minor repair, and communication of problems involving instruments, methods, samples, and sample containers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry preferred
  • Industrial laboratory experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word knowledge required
  • While performing the duties of this job, a Laboratory Technician is frequently exposed to hazardous chemicals.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, and fumes.
  • The noise level in this work environment is quiet.
  • All necessary safety training and safety equipment is provided to new employees.
