Laboratory Support Technician
About The Position
Sentara Health is hiring a full-time laboratory support technician for day shifts in the Core Lab at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA. Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is a 525-bed tertiary care facility, home to the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads, and serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School. It is recognized as an accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center and Magnet hospital for nursing excellence, specializing in heart and vascular, neurosciences, neurosurgery, urology, oncology, spine care, advanced imaging, behavioral health, maternity, and women’s health, including a state-of-the-art neonatal intensive care unit. Responsibilities
- prepare specimens per discipline operating procedure for result/interpretation by technical staff
- Perform instrument maintenance and inventory functions per operating procedures
