This job ensures inventory amounts are maintained at a level which optimizes the use of inventory dollars while minimizing stock-out costs. Supervises personnel assisting with the inventory process, ensures inventory is properly ordered, received, counted, stored, and distributed, and processes invoices for payment, reviews inter departmental charges for accuracy, and maintains borrow/lend accounts. Aids in the development, organization, implementation and utilization of inventory controls and procedures. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years related experience.
  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of job related information.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
  • Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Additional degrees, business training experience and/or certifications may be combined to meet minimum qualifications.
  • Certified Pharmacy Tech License (Only required if working in a Pharmacy department)

Responsibilities

  • Maintains inventory on hand at lowest possible level capable of meeting normal demand while keeping stock-out costs to a minimum.
  • Tracks daily statistics such as census, revenue, purchases and actual stock-out costs.
  • Maintains and accurate inventory of all supplies and purchases supplies such that required items are available for dispensing as needed.
  • Expedites all purchase orders for timely delivery and reviews vendor invoices prior to payment, verifying quantities and pricing and determining appropriate expense coding.
  • Assess accuracy of ordering and receiving processes to ensure appropriate quantities and avoid overstock.
  • Monitors and assesses reasons for stock outages and provides feedback to management for preventing future outages.
  • Participates in projects as appointed as required.
  • Other related duties as required.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
