About The Position

The Laboratory Operations Assistant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operational needs of the Product Development laboratory. This role collaborates with Formulation, Analytical, and Device Development scientists to maintain laboratory operations, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and support laboratory workflow efficiency. This position assists with managing important operational functions, enabling scientific teams to prioritize research execution and project delivery.

Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor's degree with at least 1+ years of laboratory or equipment experience in a professional / industrial laboratory setting.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and thoroughness in all duties.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with equipment maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine glassware washing, equipment setup and cleaning, and hands-on support during high-volume study cycles to ensure timely equipment / supply availability and laboratory workflow continuity.
• Manage laboratory inventory by tracking usage, maintaining stock levels, and coordinating orders for consumables, supplies, and materials.
• Support Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives, including participation in weekly safety walkthroughs, compliance with safety protocols, and proper laboratory waste disposal.
• Maintain laboratory order and cleanliness, including cleaning shared surfaces, managing waste disposal, updating data loggers and chart recorders, and supporting stability chambers and environmental systems.
• Coordinate and document routine maintenance and calibrations for laboratory equipment including pumps, water purification systems, balances, HPLCs, and stability chambers.
• Receive laboratory packages and maintain accurate chain-of-custody documentation to ensure compliance and traceability.
• Draft, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for laboratory equipment and processes.
