Laboratory Technologist (Part Time)
About The Position
At Techcyte, we are building SaaS solutions for microscopy testing using artificial intelligence (AI), including computer vision and deep machine learning. Lab Techs are a critical part of our day-to-day operation in our lab and assist engineering & product management with laboratory support to develop world-class machine-learning products for medical, environmental, and veterinary markets. We are opening a brand-new laboratory in Salisbury, NC, and are looking for a motivated and flexible individual to join our team. This position will start as part-time, but as our workload fluctuates and gradually increases, this role has potential to become a full-time position. The ideal candidate is someone who is able to adapt in the role as needs will vary and is excited to help us build our operations from the ground up.
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail, especially with repetitive tasks
- Good organization and record-keeping skills
- Must be able to commute to the office in Salisbury, NC
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must be able to work collaboratively within a team and across disciplines
- Experience working in a lab required (ie. safety, sample preparation, experience with light microscopes, etc.)
- College lab experience is acceptable
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in biology, clinical laboratory science, or related majors required, completed degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the initial setting up of the laboratory equipment and workstations
- Receive samples from clients and perform data entry tasks
- Prepare air quality samples onto microscope slides
- Digitize microscope slides with various whole slide scanners
- Assist with customer billing and reporting
