About The Position

The Clerical Team Lead supports the daily administrative, clerical and phlebotomy operations of the Laboratory, with a primary focus on workflow coordination and process efficiency. This role serves as a resource for staff, helping to ensure consistency in scheduling, registration, documentation, and other departmental functions. The Clerical Team Lead promotes operational effectiveness, supports customer service standards, and helps maintain compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2–4 years of administrative or clerical experience, preferably in a healthcare or professional office setting.
  • Strong organizational and administrative coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to guide and support peers without direct supervisory authority.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and support implementation.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience serving as a lead or resource to peers preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support daily administrative workflows, including staff scheduling, patient registration and order activation, and other operations.
  • Serve as a resource for clerical and phlebotomy staff by providing guidance on procedures, workflows, and systems.
  • Monitor processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to organizational policies and standards.
  • Assist in identifying workflow inefficiencies and support process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide day-to-day operational support to clerical and phlebotomy staff, helping to troubleshoot routine issues and ensure continuity of operations.
  • Partner with leadership to communicate updates, workflow changes, and departmental priorities.
  • Support onboarding and training of new clerical and phlebotomy team members in coordination with leadership.
  • Assist with coordination of staff schedules and coverage to maintain efficient office operations in a non-supervisory capacity.
  • Ensure appropriate handling of patient information, documentation, and records in compliance with policies.
  • Promote a positive patient experience by supporting consistent and professional front operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the department and organization.
