About The Position

Duties & Responsibilities: Operates hand tools including but not limited to hammer, 8 lb sledge, saws, chisels, screwdrivers, pliers, pry bar, come along, 4 foot level Operates power tools including but not limited to power saw, drill, saws all, air hammer. Able to climb, tie off, and perform some essential functions 35 feet or more above ground on scaffolding or structural members Operate cutting torch to cut rebar or miscellaneous metal Ability to accurately measure objects Able to climb ladders and work 35 feet or more above ground level May be required to use hand signals to direct equipment operators May be required to rig and unrig materials per company policy Levels earth to fine grade specifications using pick and shovel Smoothes and finished freshly poured cement and concrete using float, trowel, or screed Positions, joins, align, and brushes or spreads paint or bituminous compounds over surfaces for protection Sprays materials such as water, sand, steam, vinyl, paint or stucco through a hose to clean, coat or seal surfaces Applies caulking compounds by hand or with caulking gun to seal crevices Grinds, sands, or polishes surfaces such as concrete, marble, terrazzo, or wood flooring, using abrasive tools or machines Performs variety of tasks involving dexterous use of hands and tools, such as demolishing buildings, sawing lumber, dismantling forms, removing projections from concrete, mounting pipe hangers, and cutting and attaching insulation material Be proficient in basic carpentry skills Read plans, perform layout, build stairs, wood and metal framing, install backing and blocking, install hardware, Must be mechanically inclined to troubleshoot a variety of mechanical issues with heaters, thaw machines, generators, and compressors Be able to operate light machinery: fork lift, areal lift, skid steer, platform lift Must be able to direct and monitor labor force in the installation of temp heat, weather protection, clean up, snow and ice removal, material handling Will be responsible for verifying and signing all time cards for permanent and temporary labor force Cleans work areas including moving debris by hand and depositing into designated areas/dumpsters, sweeping, etc. Moves or unloads materials with care to designated storage or stocking area Performs winter conditions duties including snow removal, tenting or movement and operation of heating equipment, snow blankets and thaw machines Installs and maintains erosion control, fence, safety rails and other general project requirements in compliance with federal, state and local requirements Will be responsible for the engineering controls of job site safety: scaffold inspections, Excavation inspections, safety railings and barricades, fall protection systems, fire extinguishers, lighting Responsible for receiving and inventory of materials. Takes careful inventory of received materials and distribution of materials from controlled storage areas to worksite Assist Field Superintendent in planning and executing, temp heat, temp power, enclosures, scaffolding, and clean up strategies Keeps construction site clean and free of debris, dumpsters emptied and toilets cleaned Other duties as assigned. Weekend work as needed Education/Experience: High School or GED level education preferred Experience in a construction, commercial projects preferred Ability to perform manual construction work and equipment operations Compensation: Pay Type: Hourly Pay Range: $30.00 to $33.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
