About The Position

Primary Objectives of the Foreman Oversee and directs activities of yard personnel to ensure good customer service, safe and efficient movement of goods and equipment on the premises.

Requirements

Reports to the location manager
Lifting to 150 lbs. as needed
Might require occasional local travel of Southeastern Wisconsin

Responsibilities

Directs workers in loading, unloading and movement of materials on the premises utilizing material handling equipment and machinery
Overseas receiving of yard materials and instructing yard workers in receiving and storage procedures
Inspects loading operations for outgoing delivery to ensure compliance with shipping specifications, load limits and safety regulations. Prepares and reconciles bills of lading and packing slips
Ensures all forklift inspections are performed daily
Provides on-the-job training to new yard employees including product knowledge of items stored in the yard and warehouse and housekeeping and safety procedures.
Performs the same work as other yard employees
Ensures outside areas are kept neat and clean and scraps and yard debris are appropriately recycled or disposed of, and reports safety hazards and handles remedial action
Responsible for following and enforcing all safety rules and policies as outlined by and communicated by Bliffert Lumber management
Protects company values by keeping financial information and plans confidential
Act as our store’s representative and provides exceptional customer service
Reports injuries immediately to Manager
