About The Position

AquaPhoenix Scientific, located in Hanover, PA has an immediate opening for a technical and detail-oriented professional to join our Information Systems team as a Labeling & Data Systems Specialist.  This role is a great opportunity for someone with experience integrating label systems with ERP platforms, working with SQL-based data systems and supporting data-driven workflows. Ideal candidates will have experience working with label design tools such as NiceLabel and Adobe InDesign, as well as basic to intermediate SQL skills and familiarity with ERP or database-driven systems used to generate and manage production and shipping labels. Requirements

  • AquaPhoenix Scientific considers applicants with diverse backgrounds, education, and work experience; however, applicants for the Labeling & Data Systems Specialist position will typically have a combination of education and/or work experience equivalent to a minimum of a high school diploma, with at least two years’ experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or production environment supporting label generation, data-driven workflows, or related systems.
  • A degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field is preferred but not required if equivalent relevant experience can be demonstrated.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with NiceLabel for label design, printing and data connections along with working knowledge of Adobe InDesign for layout-based labels or packaging artwork.
  • Basic to intermediate SQL skills including reading queries, validating data, and understanding tables/fields.
  • Experience with ERP or database-driven label systems, including integrating label processes with ERP platforms and supporting SQL-based label workflows.
  • Familiarity with barcode standards and label compliance requirements.
  • Exposure to automated label workflows or print server environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to follow documented processes and troubleshoot issues logically.
  • Comfortable working in production, warehouse, or manufacturing-adjacent environments.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced operational setting with strong documentation and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Produce product, shipping, customer and regulatory labels using NiceLabel and Adobe InDesign, executing daily and ad hoc print jobs with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Validate printed output against source data to ensure accuracy of product codes, customer details, lot numbers and barcodes.
  • Maintain and update NiceLabel and Adobe InDesign templates to reflect changes in products, customers, and regulations while ensuring compliance with branding, regulatory and operational standards.
  • Coordinate template changes with the IT, Operations, and Quality teams to support accurate and consistent label output.
  • Support automated and semi-automated label workflows, including file-based triggers and SQL-driven print jobs, while assisting with troubleshooting printer issues, label software errors, and data flow problems.
  • Document label processes, data sources, and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and support ongoing operations.
  • Retrieve and validate label data from ERP, execute predefined SQL queries or stored procedures, and troubleshoot data mismatches between SQL sources and label templates to ensure accurate label generation.
  • Ensure labels meet internal quality standards and external regulatory requirements while working closely with Production, Logistics, Customer Service and Information Technology teams to resolve label related issues.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance labeling accuracy and operational efficiency.
