About The Position

LAB TECHNICIAN – CHEMISTRY (Austin, MN) To save time applying, Hormel Foods does not offer sponsorship of job applicants for employment-based visas for this position at this time. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer. RESPONSIBILITIES: Works with an intermediate degree of supervision and/or detailed procedures. Performs analytical analyses of basic, moderate and occasionally high complexity in the Chemistry Lab (all activities must be performed in a safe, accurate and efficient manner). Maintains QC and ISO records as assigned. Performs other assigned duties within R&D Laboratories. QUALIFICATIONS: Education - Successful completion of 2 years post-secondary education in a lab based scientific discipline. Experience – 2 years in a lab-based discipline preferred. o Demonstrated basic lab skills including gravimetric, volumetric, titrimetric, spectrophotometric, & pH measurement utilizing computerized data collection. o Good math skills with statistical comprehension. o Good computer skills including Microsoft Office and LIMS. Communication – Listening, speaking, and writing effectively while promoting dialog with focused feedback Inclusion – Ability to work in an inclusive team environment, treating others with dignity and respect. Initiative – Ability to manage accountabilities proactively utilizing strong organizational skills while asking “what else can I do”. At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for this role is between $20.25 - $28.50 per hour, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
