Lab Tech Assistant - WEO - Variable Shift
About The Position
The Lab Tech Assistant performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA, and other applicable regulatory and established standards. This role also involves performing venipunctures and obtaining/preparing blood specimens according to Piedmont policies and procedures. The assistant provides support for both clinical and non-clinical tasks, working under the direct supervision of a licensed medical technologist/technician to ensure the generation of accurate and reliable laboratory results.
Requirements
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist, laboratory processor, or laboratory assistant. Required
- Current enrollment in a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician program may be substituted for experience
Responsibilities
- Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable.
