About The Position

Position Summary: The Lab Assistant processes all types of clinical specimens, to include centrifugation and distribution to the appropriate area. Assesses specimens for quality and appropriateness during the pre-analytical process and prepares samples appropriately for loading on analyzers. They may receive more training in some specific areas in order to accommodate specific job assignments. Requirements

• Computer applications, MS Office, EMR, internet applications and standard office equipment
• Detail oriented, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
• Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity and maintains confidentiality
• Strong emotional intelligence, interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Required High School Diploma or Equivalent
• This role requires regular and sustained attendance.
• The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
• On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.

Responsibilities

• Handles, processes and distributes lab specimens
• Processes send-out orders and packages for shipment
• Monitors send-out pending lists and reconciles against specimens
• Provides customer service
• In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements.
