About The Position

The Lab Services Integrations Manager is responsible for overseeing the seamless integration of laboratory information systems, equipment, and workflows across clinical laboratory operations. This role serves as a bridge between laboratory operations, IT infrastructure, and external partners to ensure efficient data exchange and system interoperability post-mergers, acquisitions or joint ventures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
  • Clinical laboratory certification (MLS, MT, CLS)
  • 5+ years of experience in laboratory operations or healthcare IT
  • Strong understanding of laboratory information systems and clinical workflows
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance in clinical laboratories

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of laboratory system integrations including LIS (Laboratory Information Systems), EHR/EMR, and laboratory instruments and training.
  • Manage HL7, FHIR, and other data exchange protocols to ensure accurate bidirectional communication between systems
  • Coordinate instrument interfacing projects and troubleshoot connectivity issues
  • Evaluate new or existing technologies and integration opportunities to improve laboratory efficiency
  • set up or transfer CLIA license and account set up with lab vendors.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocation for integration initiatives
  • Collaborate with vendors, IT teams, and laboratory staff to execute integration projects on schedule and within budget
  • Conduct testing, validation, and quality assurance for all new integrations
  • Document integration specifications, workflows, and standard operating procedures
  • Partner with laboratory directors and technical staff to understand integration needs
  • Work closely with IT and LIS administration teams to align laboratory systems with organizational technology infrastructure
  • Serve as primary liaison with external vendors and system providers
  • Train laboratory staff on new systems and integration functionality
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot integration issues
  • Implement process improvements to streamline laboratory workflows
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including CLIA, HIPAA, and other applicable standards
  • Maintain system documentation and integration inventories
