About The Position

This Laboratory Support Technician role at JLL combines hands-on laboratory operations with facilities management to ensure smooth daily operations in a scientific environment. The associate will manage the complete supply chain for laboratory consumables, PPE, and equipment while maintaining strict compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. Responsibilities include shipping and receiving materials in accordance with US DOT and IATA regulations, performing preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment, managing chemical inventory systems, and coordinating glasswash and autoclave services.

Requirements

  • At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Experience working with general lab equipment, inventory management and media preparation.
  • Experience with work order and inventory tracking systems (Maximo, SAP etc.).
  • Knowledge of MS Office suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with management and employees at all levels within an organization, including customers.
  • Clearly communicates with colleagues and customers, understands their goals and work priorities, and provides timely feedback.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize, manage and organize time.
  • Must be a team player, committed to customer service and working in a quality environment.
  • Must have adequate skills to perform required job functions with minimal supervision.
  • The job involves field work requiring frequent walking, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting and carrying materials and equipment weighing 50 pounds or less, and pushing or pulling furniture weighing 50 pounds or more.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a life science, biology, chemistry or 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Prior experience with a CMMS is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform shipping and receiving duties in adherence to US DOT and IATA regulations.
  • Report abnormalities and unsafe conditions to lab management, which may include general lab assets and common lab spaces.
  • Support laboratory equipment preventative maintenance as needed or requested.
  • Defrost or decontaminate a variety of lab equipment as needed or on established schedule.
  • Perform eyewash station testing.
  • Support and stock the laboratory supply of consumable products, PPE, glassware, supplies, etc.
  • Consult with client on supply chain management.
  • Fulfill glasswash and autoclave requests.
  • Collect, transport and deploy lab coats on established schedule.
  • Proficiency with reagent management systems and chemical inventory management.
  • Document maintenance activities and other work performed within Client’s CMMS system.
  • Follow JLL and BMS policies and procedures in escorting and accompanying vendors throughout secured spaces.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures and adhere to company standards and training requirements.
  • Comply with all JLL and client policies and procedures, and adhere to JLL company standards.
  • Assist in other lab services operations as directed or needed.
