About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lab Manager to join our team in Scott, LA . This person will work very closely with the General Manager to ensure lab operations are running efficiently. As the Lab Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our laboratory operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field
  • Minimum of 8 years of management experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) industry
  • Extensive knowledge of laboratory techniques, equipment, and safety protocols
  • Proven experience in implementing and maintaining ISO 17025 laboratory quality management systems
  • Strong understanding of relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and provide actionable insights
  • Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and data analysis software
  • Experience with budget management and resource allocation
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make critical decisions under pressure
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with testing procedures for textiles, footwear, garments, or related materials is a plus
  • Current or former VILAS approved signatory status is highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and coordinates daily laboratory operations, maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
  • Develops and implements standardized testing procedures and workflows to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
  • Manages and mentors a team of laboratory technicians, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant safety regulations, quality control standards, and industry best practices.
  • Oversees equipment maintenance, calibration, and procurement to maintain optimal laboratory performance.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to support research and development initiatives.
  • Implements and manages quality assurance programs, including proficiency testing and accreditation processes.
  • Analyzes and interprets complex data, preparing comprehensive reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Continuously improves laboratory processes and methodologies to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Participates in client meetings, laboratory tours, and technical presentations to showcase our capabilities and expertise.
