Requirements

  • Strong teamwork and customer service orientation.
  • General knowledge of laboratory utilities and gas systems.
  • Experience with installation of stainless steel piping and regulator panels.
  • Familiarity with safe handling procedures for laboratory equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data tracking and reporting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • High School Diploma with a technical diploma such as AA/AS degree in Facilities Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering Technology, and/or trade school courses.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in laboratory or facilities maintenance.
  • OSHA safety training and forklift/powered industrial truck certification.
  • Knowledge of gas detection systems and safety protocols.
  • Familiarity with AC/DC electrical principles and refrigeration systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide maintenance and utility support for laboratory equipment.
  • Assist in moving and installing laboratory equipment such as incubator shakers, ventilation hoods, biosafety hoods, centrifuges, -80°C freezers, refrigerators, environmental chambers, and water circulators.
  • Install ½” stainless steel lines from regulator panels to points of service.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot standard laboratory utilities, including compressed air, RO/DI water, natural gas, oxygen and nitrogen systems, and local gas detection systems.
  • Safely handle and operate equipment for moving laboratory and office items, including powered industrial trucks, pallet jacks, hydraulic dollies, and specialty moving tools.
  • Create and maintain accurate records and reports using Excel spreadsheets.
  • Support equipment relocation and installation projects in compliance with safety protocols.
