About The Position

The Department of Biological Sciences at Seton Hall University seeks a full-time Lab Coordinator. Briefly, this lab lecturer would be expected to teach 12 credits per academic year of undergraduate teaching labs and/or lab lectures. This faculty's responsibility would also include lab preparations, maintaining lab facilities, and completing tasks associated with teaching-lab functions for multiple courses. More specifically, the hire would be expected to: (1) coordinate labs courses with other faculty to maintain a consistent and academically strong curriculum; (2) meet with faculty, graduate assistants, and adjuncts to standardize grading & content for core courses (i.e. general biology, anatomy & physiology, genetics, cell biology, nonmajors anatomy & physiology, microbiology, upper biology electives etc.); (3) support/train graduate students who are teaching laboratory courses; (4) assist with managing safety and OSHA compliance within the lab facilities; (5) and assist with other day-day activities that are important to a functional department (e.g. exam proctoring). Duties and Responsibilities: Applicants will be expected to teach and coordinate undergraduate teaching labs and engage in service to the Department and University. Requirements

• PhD or equivalent terminal degree in biological sciences or related field strongly preferred. Masters required.
• Strong applicants should be able to teach undergraduate and graduate students effectively in both a large and small classroom setting.
