About The Position

Eaton’s Aerospace Division is currently seeking a Lab Analyst to join our team. This position is based at our Euclid, OH facility. With over 300 employees, our Euclid, OH facility specializes in the manufacturing and repair of main engine fuel pumps, airframe pumps and aftermarket repairs. This site serves both commercial and military aviation. The expected annual salary range for this role is $71000 - $105000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. What you’ll do: The Lab Analyst is responsible for conducting materials testing in support of Eaton-Euclid manufacturing and Eaton Aersopace Labs' external sales. Will prepare, analyze and document metallurgical and chemical lab tests. This position will be also be responsible for maintaining test equipment, modifying/writing lab procedures and supporting manufacturing special processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution OR five (5) years' experience in metallography in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum two (2) years in a laboratory, manufacturing or testing setting
  • No relocation offered for this role. Candidate must reside within a 50 mile radius of Euclid, Ohio. Active Duty military are exempt from this requirement
  • This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant materials engineering or science field
  • Familiarity with materials testing theory and hands on application

Responsibilities

  • Perform hardness testing (Brinell, Rockwell, Vickers, Knoop)
  • Prepare metallographic specimens (sectioning, mounting and polishing)
  • Evaluate specimens per test procedures (ie. case depth, IGA, grain size, weld evaluation, etc)
  • Assist with chemical analysis (titrations, Spark-OES, ICP) as needed.
  • Perform other lab work/tasks if necessary.
  • Document test results and prepare test reports
  • Help maintain lab equipment and environment
  • Communicate (both orally and written) with supervision and sales in a precise, logical, informative and tactful manner.
  • Assist with manufacturing process troubleshooting and process control
  • Review industry specifications related to lab testing
