Our Sterilization and Disinfection Control division manufactures and sells biological and chemical indicators that assess the effectiveness of sterilization and disinfection processes for pharmaceutical, healthcare, and dental industries. Job Summary The Lab Analyst I is an entry-level position responsible for providing support in Mesa Lab's Biological Indicator and Spore Labs. The Laboratory Analyst I will be responsible for helping to produce and test spore crops used in the biological indicator laboratory manufacturing process. This role performs a variety of laboratory tasks, including sample preparation, data analysis, and equipment maintenance. Works under the supervision of senior laboratory personnel. The role follows established protocols and focuses on building foundational laboratory skills, maintaining accuracy, and adhering to safety and quality standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 0–1 year of experience in a laboratory or related environment preferred
  • Basic understanding of laboratory safety practices
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Sample Preparation and Basic Testing Assist in collecting, labeling, and preparing samples for analysis following established procedures
  • Perform routine, standardized tests under direct supervision
  • Record results accurately and report any inconsistencies or issues to senior staff
  • Laboratory Maintenance Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment by following established cleaning procedures
  • Stock and organize laboratory supplies and notify appropriate personnel when inventory is low
  • Equipment Support Operate basic laboratory equipment according to instructions and training
  • Assist with routine equipment cleaning and simple maintenance tasks
  • Report equipment issues or malfunctions to senior staff
  • Data Entry and Documentation Enter test results and sample data into laboratory systems with a high level of accuracy
  • Maintain organized records in accordance with established guidelines
  • Team Support Follow instructions from senior laboratory staff and support day-to-day lab activities
  • Collaborate with team members to complete assigned tasks efficiently
  • Compliance and Safety Follow all laboratory safety procedures and guidelines
  • Properly handle and dispose of materials in accordance with established protocols
  • Participate in required safety training
