The Kitchen Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of all kitchen equipment and machinery in a hotel or restaurant setting. This role ensures the smooth operation of all kitchen appliances and systems, providing a safe and functional environment for kitchen staff. Requirements

Previous maintenance experience required; hotel experience and training preferred.
2 years minimum of hotel and/or commercial building maintenance experience preferred.
1 year of commercial kitchen experience preferred; commercial refrigeration experience is a plus.
Previous experience responding to emergency situations is required.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, time management, computer proficiency, and a focus on guest satisfaction are essential.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to crawl for short distances.
Ability to bend, reach overhead, squat, and kneel for prolonged periods.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Ability to use step stools and ladders.
Knowledge of electrical systems, low voltage controls, plumbing, and gas systems.
Experience in reading and interpreting schematics.
Must have flexible availability to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

Schedule and perform preventive maintenance (PM) on equipment.
Operate and maintain low-pressure boilers for the hot water system.
Operate and maintain additional vessels as needed for hot water, kitchen steam, and air conditioning systems.
Assist mechanics and external contractors with the repair of hotel property and equipment.
Repair and maintain HVAC systems and commercial kitchen equipment.
Repair and maintain the swimming pool and related pool equipment.
Complete all assigned work orders and daily tasks promptly.
Receive instructions for house calls via radio.
Possess a thorough understanding of Omni’s fire alarm procedures and emergency protocols.
Have a comprehensive understanding of Omni hotel rules and regulations.
Maintain a strong knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations.
