About The Position
Kitchen Assistant / Dishwasher (Part-Time) Starting Pay: $13.75 per hour Well-Spring, a Life Plan Community , is looking for a dependable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant / Dishwasher to join our Dining Services team. This role is essential in supporting daily kitchen operations and helping deliver a positive dining experience for our residents. Position Summary As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a key support role in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. This position contributes directly to resident satisfaction through teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to service excellence. Schedule Flexible availability required Shifts may include: Morning: starting at 8:30 AM Evening: 4:30 PM – 9:00 PM Monday–Sunday , with schedules that may vary week to week based on department needs Must be able to work at least 3 shifts per week
Requirements
- Completion of 10th grade or higher preferred
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English
- Strong teamwork skills and reliable work ethic
- Flexible availability and dependable attendance
- Commitment to customer service and respectful interactions
- Understanding of infection control, resident rights, and confidentiality
Responsibilities
- Follow oral and written instructions accurately
- Maintain clear communication with team members regarding resident needs
- Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, cookware, and food service equipment
- Keep dishwashing and kitchen areas clean and organized
- Assist with food preparation and staging prior to meal service
- Stock and rotate inventory using FIFO (first-in, first-out) method
- Transport food carts, supplies, and equipment as needed
- Complete daily cleaning tasks and follow safety and sanitation guidelines
- Assist with training new staff and participate in department meetings
