About The Position

Dining Room Manager Well-Spring Retirement Community Greensboro, NC Full-Time | Exempt (Salaried) Position Summary Well-Spring Retirement Community is seeking an experienced and service-driven Dining Room Manager to lead front-of-house dining operations across our independent dining venues. This role is responsible for ensuring an exceptional dining experience for residents while overseeing service standards, staff performance, and daily operations. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, hands-on leader who thrives in a hospitality-focused environment and enjoys working directly with residents and staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on Front of House management experience
  • Strong background in: Fine dining service Casual dining service Banquet service Bar operations
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently
  • Computer proficiency required, including: Microsoft Word & Excel Paycor Fullcount

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a professional, welcoming atmosphere at all times
  • Work the dining floor during each meal period to ensure exceptional service
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with residents
  • Monitor food preparation and delivery to ensure quality and presentation
  • Maintain knowledge of all menu items, including allergens
  • Address questions or concerns with the Director of Dining
  • Set up and oversee resident and staff events, special functions, memorials, buffets, stations, and mobile bars
  • Adjust schedules as needed for resident functions, holidays, weather, or staffing needs
  • Maintain flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required
  • Uphold confidentiality, dignity, and well-being of residents and team members
  • Train and monitor staff on proper service techniques for fine dining, casual dining, and banquets
  • Hire, orient, train, evaluate, schedule, and coach waitstaff
  • Oversee daily sanitation checklists and cleaning schedules
  • Manage inventory levels, par levels, and ordering of food items, flatware, plates, and glassware
  • Oversee bar operations, including inventory and purchasing
  • Ensure compliance with North Carolina ALE laws and licensing requirements
  • Assist with meal checks and monthly billing accuracy
  • Maintain Well-Spring’s ABC permit and licensing
  • Enforce uniform standards and compliance with corporate and campus policies
  • Schedule and lead staff meetings, training sessions, and in-service education
  • Participate in supervisor and departmental meetings
  • Assist in developing and maintaining departmental policies and procedures
  • Support development of schedules, checklists, forms, and quality assurance tools
  • Ensure completion of all mandatory training requirements
  • Oversee sanitation practices and food safety compliance
  • Promote allergen awareness and safe food handling
  • Ensure compliance with ALE and licensing regulations
  • Foster a safe, professional, and policy-compliant work environment
  • Assist with department budgeting and cost control initiatives
  • Promote efficiency and productivity within dining services
  • Produce bi-weekly schedules for supervisors, bartenders, and servers
  • Complete monthly inventory
  • Assist with food and beverage ordering, including alcohol
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Dining
  • Ability to lift food products or sundries up to 50 lbs
  • Exposure to elevated temperatures (approximately 90°F for periods exceeding one hour )
